About our Pastor
Pastor Jacob is a native of the Commonwealth hailing from Galax, Virginia by way of Abingdon, VA. A life long Presbyterian, Jacob felt a call to ministry while in high school and this call led him to study religion as well as psychology at King University in Bristol, TN. After college, he attended Princeton Theological Seminary where he received his Master of Divinity degree. Upon his graduation, he began a year long chaplain residency at Capital Health Hospital in Trenton, NJ. In May of 2017, Pastor Jacob was ordained and installed at Third Presbyterian. He and his wife, Ashley, are avid dog lovers and are also "cat people", having two dogs and one cat. They enjoy outdoor activities: hiking, kayaking, and walking with their dogs. During his free time, you will likely find Pastor Jacob playing disc golf at courses throughout the Shenandoah Valley.
